Fourth Post: Bluford High, The Bully by Paul Langan (Chapter 4)

Chapter 4 was mainly about Darell waking up, hesitating about going to school because he knew he would have to see Tyray. His first class was English, which also had Tyray in it, and it was worse because Tyray chose to sit behind Darell. Tyray started bullying Darell every minute the teacher turned his back. Finally, the teacher noticed the actions Tyray was creating and moved him to the front of the class. Nobody that he would like to make friends with, wanted to make friends with him. Even at lunch, Darell sat at an empty table, alone..

Personal Thoughts: I understand what Darell is going through with Tyray. Years back, I also had many bullies try and pick on me. I never really said much to them because I knew my parents sent me to school for one thing only, and that was to learn. However, sometimes I wonder if ignoring them was actually the best thing to do. I have had many people tell me things about bullies, and one of those lessons were that bullies only pick on people because something is going on in their life, and bullying is their way to make themselves feel better. Even with that lesson shoved into my head, I still cannot shake the feeling that I should have done more about the situation, but I knew that I couldn't afford to let myself enrage with anger, fading into such childish actions.
